Charlotte Bobcats

The Charlotte Bobcats are the worst team in the NBA this year, which has many fans upset and wishing for the return of the Hornets. Recently I went to a Bobcats' game and was surprised by the lack of fans present at the game, so I decided to check their statistics for the season. The Bobcats have won only 7 of the 65 games they have played this season, and the last 22 of those losses have been consecutive. The Bobcats will play their last game of the season tonight against the New York Knicks in Charlotte and will most likely receive their 59th loss of the season and 23rd consecutive loss. According to ESPN.com that will make them the worst team in NBA history, because their winning percentage will be .108. After reading all of these facts about the Bobcats' terrible season it is easy to understand why there is such a lack of fans at their games. Let's hope team owner Michael Jordan can turn things around next season and restore faith in the team and put more fans in the arena's seats.

NCAA Results

Almost the whole 2012 NCAA Tournament surprised me.  My bracket that I made had a lot of upsets and the only big game that I had correct was the outcome of the Championship game between Kansa and Kentucky.  The first big upset for me was that Duke lost in the first round.  I am a huge duke fan but I also try to be realistic every season.  I thought they would at least make it to the Sweet Sixteen.  The other game that didn’t go the way I wanted was NC State and Kansas.  I really wanted State to win that game so State and UNC would have to play each other in the Elite Eight.  I thought State had a great team this season.  They could have easily beat Duke but Duke pulled through in the last two minutes.  I think next season the team to beat will be State if they keep this up.  Hopefully Duke will have a better season as well.

Emotional Struggles of Athletes With Press

Kris Humphries, a forward for the New Jersey Nets, has been through a ton of emotional struggles within the past year.  He started dating Kim Kardashian and was put in the spotlight with the reality television show.  The family didn’t really accept him and you could definitely see that in the show.  Kris proposed to Kim and they ended up getting married.  The wedding was around 10 million dollars, which is an insane amount.  They were married for only 72 days and Kim.  Kris plays more games in a season than what his marriage lasted.  The media has bashed Kris and Kim back and forth blaming them both for trying to use the marriage as a scam to gain more press and money.  Apparently Kris Humphries had no idea about what was going on and didn’t even know there was a problem with him marriage.  That would take an emotional toll on anyone, especially having to deal with so much press.

2012 Masters

This past weekend I watched the Masters.  I don't watch golf very often but my stepdad is big into golf so I watch it with him sometimes.  Even though Phil Mickelson didn’t win, I was very happy that Bubba Watson won.  It came down to Bubba Watson and Louis Oosthuizen playing a sudden death playoff hole.  Both golfers are phenomenal and played well during the tournament.  Oosthuizen hit the ball short and missed the green then Watson hit and the ball landed in the pine straws.  I was thinking that Watson had no chance whatsoever because of where he had to hit the ball from.  Oosthuizen missed the putt so Watson had two shots to win.  He hit the ball within 25 feet when he had to hit off the pine straw, it couldn’t have been a better shot.  He ended up making the putt and won the 2012 Masters.
